Probe: CP 2 + Explorer 6 by MA Dental is a combination instrument that has CP 2 Probe on one end and Explorer 6 on the other. Periodontal Probe CP12 used in the assessment of pocket depth. It has a thin, long, and blunt tip that measures the pocket depth around the tooth to assess the health of the periodontium. The instrument is engraved with marks on its tip for legibility and greater precision. Explorer 6 is used for calculus and caries detection, furcations, exploration of pocket depth, and restorations. Explorer 23 is used for detecting tooth decay at tooth enamel. It is commonly used in dental armamentarium. Dental explorers detect the pinhole areas of tooth where cavity can form and also picks up debris in between teeth and gum. Whereas, CP-2 gives a better assessment of gingival pocket depth by increasing tactile sensitivity. It does not damage the surrounding tissue.
